Strut interchangeability question

Quick question...couldn't quite figure this out from the WSM. Can you use 86.0 front coil strut assemblies on an 86.5?

Actually one more question...how easy is it to access the upper front wishbone mounting nuts?

yes, they will fit. There is a an array of shocks in the struts that could have been used but they will bolt in. The nuts are moderately difficult to access. The right tools (breaker bar) ect will help a lot. One side I seem to remember is much easier than the other. I did most of the work blind, feeling for the nut and getting a tool on it.

Great input Pete, thanks. Spot on about the shocks. I transferred over a late 86 suspension to my early 86 this weekend. The early 86 had fresh shocks though, so I kept those coilovers. Bolted up no problem.

The upper wishbone nuts are NOT pleasant. A 22mm ratcheting box wrench is your friend here.

Upper wishbone? I've done a dozen shock change-outs on 928's, never loosened the upper a-arms.

Mark read my post above yours. I transferred in an entire late 86 suspension, including upper wishbones.
