Porsche Crest 928s 50th Jubilee ??

I think I found a 928s 50th Jubilee!! I have read about it but there isn't that much information about the car. I'm pretty sure it is a real Jubilee. Engine, seats, color, interior and signature are the things that make me believe it is a Jubilee.
I'm new on these forums. Can anyone help me here?? what else should I look for??

Thanks!!!

Jubilee, is a Euro S, I forget exact year, but about an 83, plus or minus a year or so. Interior is cloth with stripe as I recall, not sure what would explicitly ID one. Very novel car in the USA, not that rare outside the US, kind of the Euro version of the Weissach, mostly a trim paint variation on a standard equipment car otherwise.

With only 140 made, it's rare anywhere. I would assume very rare gray market in the US.

I have no love for the special interior.

I think Roger has one among his herd of Weissachs, and I found one other for sale a year or so ago.

I would not take the 140 figure as gospel either, Weissach production was quite a bit higher than claimed. As far as I know its never had the following that the Weissach has, both of them essentially trim and interior option packages, even though its a Euro S vs US 4.5. My guess is that people just were not that hot for the interior.

I wonder what the cost was for the Jubilee? Weissach package added $5,940.00.

Thanks a lot everyone.

by gray market, Do you mean the car was imported illegally?

The car has the same seats as the picture above. The car looks original!! even the intake runners are different that other cars. I've read runners in euro spec cars were bigger. I see a big difference between other 928s. does that mean it has more hp than a US spec car??
The interior is in really rough shape. Should I restore it to its original form or should I go other color. I really don't like the interior either. I would also like to paint the car red. But i don't know. is it better to restore the whole car to its original form or no?
What do you guys think?? is the car worth fixing??

How about some pictures of it, but it's best to do it all original if you plan to call it a 50th Jubilee, or what is often called the Ferry Porsche Edition. Otherwise, you will have a potentially special early 928 that looks like a run of the mill 928, and then there won't be anything special about it. If you are going to paint it red, you might as well get some other bursted 928 and restore it. That's my opinion.
In experience with 911s, most people don't want an 80's 911 that somebody else put flares on to make it look like a 935. The same rings true for any car. If you want it's value to hold up, keep it original. The special interior is funky, but I happen to like Burgandy in a 928. It's no more tacky than that black n' white pasha. It's kinda 924 Carrera like only the material was black striped in those cars.
P.S. I might could get you some seats with enough material to repair what you have provided the striped inserts are in good shape. In the past I had to cut up two old shot burgandy seats to repair my seats. It just so happens I have access to two more. The upholsterer did a marvellous job though, and my seats look great. If the pin striping material is bad, you would have to match the material somehow.

Probably not brought in illegally. When imported it should have been converted to comply with US DOT standards. If it wasn't and you have yearly safety inspections in your state, it may fail.
Then there's the emissions...or lack of. If you have testing in your area that can also be a problem.

Get the vin and engine numbers and post some pics. I didn't think the Jubilee had the 300+ HP Euro engine?

If you're going to pay any kind of premium because it's a special edition, then you need to keep it looking as it was. If it's dirt cheap then there's no loss in making it how you want it, but imo it would be a shame to change it.

THANKS!! I had the idea of painting it red and change interior color before I new it could be a special edition. But you guys are totally right. There is no logic in changing anything and the interior color does not bother me since it is a special edition thing.
We don't have safety inspections here other than emissions test. But is it true about the intake runners?? the ones on this car are thicker than normal. I've read thats because the car has a slightly different engine with more hp since is a euro spec. I don't know. I'm a little confused now. haha. The car needs the interior redone, paint job, and a new radiator.

Oh Gawd, please remove those things sticking out where your headlights need to be. Spider legs do look fat. You got your work cut out for you on this one. Gonna be fun though.

Welcome to the CIS Club.

Look for your engine code to verify, but i think you have a 300 HP Monster

80-83 S - 3-auto (Euro) 4.7L-16v M28/12 300 263 10.0:1 K-Jetronic 152 7.2 15.5 3197

80-83 S - 5-man (Euro) 4.7L-16v M28/11 300 263 10.0:1 K-Jetronic 155 6.6 15.2 3197

THANKS!! 924CarreraGTP and 19psi

I need to inspect the seats really good to decide if something can be done with them!
Do you think you can find the same seats for this car?? how much would does run for?
Is it a bad idea to just have someone replicate them??

Where exactly can i find the engine VIN #??

If it were me, or I was you, I would restore your seats back to original. I kinda like the Jubilee Colors. I think a Silver exterior with that Interior looks HOT!

Nope, the only tool needed for this operation is a Towel.
