4.7 engine?

Well today I decided to tear down my new engine project. I'm a bit puzzled though.. Upon removing the heads, I used my calipers on the bore, where I measured 3.81" (96.774mm). Isn't a 4.7 supposed to be 97mm? Any way, the stamping at the front of the block is: M-28/19 followed by 810770. This is a 4.7 isn't it?
thanks -Kerry

M28/19 is US 84/84 4.7L.

Any chance you measured the bore using a caliper with square jaws?

The caveat being I used the knife edge area of the calipers.
