what is this electrical component?

US 1984 928S

What is the electrical component/box that is attached to the right side of the passenger under-dash tray?

It's a black box, maybe 2"x2" x1", that is attached to the shelf itself with wires that run forward into the footwell. It's not the L-Jet box which is mounted to the side of the footwell.

Might want to take a picture of it but chances are it is the bulb control unit.

Do you have an after market alarm? It could be the "shock" sensor

I should have taken a picture when I had everything apart to install the Lizard short shifter. I didn't think of asking at that time.

There is an Ungo alarm system that was installed back in the 90's. I don't use it and the only thing it seems to have broken is the ability to lock the doors from outside.

Next time I remove the tray, I'll take a picture and post it.

Does it have a small horizontal 3 position switch with a red LED indicator? I have the same type of box if that's what you're talking about.

It looks like my frankenstein car had a kill switch (likely disconnected) also installed. I'm afraid what I'm going to find lurking inder the dash and footwell.
My next project is clearing out the garage.
