rear main seal help
I got call from my brother who is been tuning my 84 928, 5 speed manual tranny, he said the rear main seal is leaking baddly?
.HOW DIFFICULT IS TO FIX IT any help detail best way to task , is this common fail in 928 |

is he sure its the RMS,
usually its the rear cam tower gaskets, Roger sells new silicone gaskets. I would replace these gaskets before you do a RMS

Main seal would need to drop the clutch, not for the faint of heart to mess with a working clutch.

rms
A good deal of work. Lots of WYAIT and many hours. Essentially you are doing a clutch job. If the RMS is leaking the clutch may be compromised as well.

i've got a 83 project car with leaking rear cam gasket seals. How many hours is it to replace.

to replace the rear cam seals takes about 30 mins a side,
and is easier to clean the surfaces from the bottom reaching up, Roger sells new silicone seals to replace the cork gaskets
