That is a basic harness to wire up a hot rod, useless for a 928.

Which harness do you want to replace, the engine harness (injection or front of engine power) or the interior, or the front chassis harness? Plan on them having Porsche prices.

We call them PO, previous owner. Any idea what the issue was, maybe a fire?

I don't like splices, nobody does it better than the phone company I am waiting on them right now to dig up my front yard and replace a splice that has gone bad after 10 years or so. Splices not done right are trouble much sooner.

You need a harness or several of them that match your car, and I don't know date ranges that might be compatible. 1979 is CIS with vacuum operated door locks, and 80 is electronic injection with electric locks, so maybe not compatible.

Maybe tell us more about the car and post some pictures, you could easily be talking a lot of money just to get to average condition.

I'm not sure the real big issue was the po took the car apart interior wise to redo it all to be coustom somewere along all of this he lost all the relays and cut the blinkers and anything else around the stearing wheel off to put an aftermarket momo racing wheel on it.

and attempt to put a body kit on the car front and backI traded my motorcycle for this car to have as a project I was going to do a 350 swap but
why ruin a good car needs a little love

splicing wires can be ok as long as you do them right wich I can and have many times.

now I have mabye 300 dollars into this car I have tons of new parts for this car in my garage all the manuals for it inside and out.
I don't need a show car just a car I can get in and go have fun with but here are some pictures

Oh man. Get a stock front and rear bumper cover and bury all that craziness the PO did.

To be fair, I spliced and used couplers to rebuild my wiring harness and it is still holding up. Just make sure to give it a good tug to make sure it got crimped. I then used silicone tape to cover it all up.

Yep the painless is definitely a hot rod harness. Depends which circuits you want to keep, or use. If you're going basic, or primitive electrics in the car then I would use that one, and of course if you throw in a carb'ed engine. I'm considering that route in my 928 right now as I'm not really using any circuits.... But then again one truly only needs head lights, and tail lights... Right?!

I agree I like the fact the car is fully loaded and sun roof... but it will not be a daily driver just a fun little car

Other than starting with a car in really nice condition I don't know of any inexpensive way to make a 928 a reliable fun car.
