Front/rear license plate brackets the same?
I need a front plate bracket. Are these the same front and rear? Anyone happen to have a front one?
Thanks! |

Not sure if they are the same, but 928 Intl has them used for $20.

I looked on 928 Intl and they only have the front listed for the newer bumper, I can always call and as I suppose. I need one for my 83. medipedicman if that off the front or rear?

I don't know. It has been in a box forever. IIRC the front one has rubber spacers to prevent rubs. It attaches to the bumper slightly higher than halfway up and has a something to prevent contact with the bumper mid way down. The one in my auction has no rubber spacers.

You can buy those standoffs at any Home Depot.

I'm thinking of getting one of the tow hook lic holders.
ALPR, automatic license plate recognition seems to have hit high gear this year, so I am betting cops start to crack down on front plates missing. |

Bumper already has 2 holes where the plate bracket once mounted so I'm hoping to find the correct one so I don't have to put more holes in the bumper. Didn't get a chance to call around today on a front bracket. |

WE got to slow down this tech in our lives.Funny thing is I kept putting the front plate on and my buddy who got me into this car keeps taking it off and handing it to me later. I stopped putting it on. The car looks much better for sure, even with some chips.

top pic is on the front of an 84s - bottom one is the rear of the same car - the only difference I can see is the front does have the rubber spacers behind the mounting screws - I also have one mounted to the rear off a 79 it looks identical to the one on the rear of the 84 - low Passat I'm in Denver - you can have the one from the 79 - but you would need to find rubber spacers to put it on the front - let me know

Thanks guys. I ordered a bracket and new bumpers/stand offs. I just hope the mounting lines up with the holes already in the bumper.
