That's the problem', every drunk has a sob story, it's the reason and result of being a drunk. Next week when he kills someone's little kid they'll ask "why was he driving?". There a many things I can forgive...dwi, is not one of them, I would have taken a different path.

If you were a friend of Bob & Bill, you would perhaps have a different viewpoint.

There is a wild difference between a 19 year old kid doing beer bongs all night and wrecking his car, and an alcoholic.

Not a friend of B&B, but I take your point.

What I do tend to believe is that karma works both ways, not always but some times. And I KNOW there have been, and probably will be again, times when I was in desperate need of forgiveness and got it.

Dumb I know..The driver was so upset about his 951 though.

I have to say this whole thing would have Columbo really scratching his head.

Not to the person and the families they wreck.

I wish for you, then, to someday be blessed with enlightenment. Life is not black & white, it almost never is.

It has nothing to do with enlightenment, the guy seems to need help and your doing him no favors by enabling him. Hey, be his buddy, get him help, do what you should, but get him off the road. To allow someone to habitually drink and drive is irresponsible. You know what usually stops people like him? a head on crash... you'd would be saving his like as well.

I'm going to have to side with you on this one Pete. He sure as hell shouldn't be driving.

Pete, you are dead on as usual.

But, Uboat is not the one responsible for getting this guy help, or off the road.
I would question the church for enabling this smuck, if my understanding that they cut the check is accurate.

Even if Uboat had wanted to teach this guy a lesson, and even if the police might have pursued it -- the district attorney would not have prosecuted.
Ask me how I know.

You had a plow business?

Now that this has been settled, who has seen a Yeti or been probed by Aliens? LOL.

Ha!

This is getting way, way off topic. The ugly reality is that prosecutors are so overwhelmed, that even felony crimes are not often prosecuted aggressively unless they are violent crimes or drug related.

I have tried to prosecute two people over the years. Both clients that committed fraud.
One was a slam dunk felony arrest and it still got dismissed.

I think Mr. Plow would have been very low priority for the cops, with a recommendation to pursue it as a civil matter. Just sayin.

I think the guy was sorry alright...SORRY that you found out it was him who f--cked your car!!

Not for a second do I believe that was an "accident"...he tried to run from what he did.

Make SURE you report his no-insurance azz to the Police and get him OFF the road.
