another newbie needs help!!
hi to everyone on this forum. i am based in france and in the process of trying to put a 82 S (euro) back to its former glory . the cars runs but needs a lot of attention to make it a lot better. so far i have been focusing on the engine and interior but when the weather warms up i want to give her a full windows out respray. i have just rebuilt the FD and the WUR as all the fuel pressures were all over the place; ive replaced all the usual stuff ; plugs leads dizzy cap rotor arm all vac lines and inlet manifold boots for silicone ones ets . Now the car runs pretty good but i need some help with the ignition timing, i cant find any reliable data on what it should be,just the usual opinions or "what someone heard one time from a freind of the guy next door".
At the moment i am on 26° BTDC which is also the last mark on the HB. i'd be very greatful if anyone could check out for me what it really should be. thanks ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That 26 degree mark on the HB is the timing mark for the engine at 3000 rpm with the vacuum line from the distributor disconnected and plugged. Time to the 26 degree mark and you will be just fine.
