some sense about sensor
Hello Gents , can anyone tell me the exact location of the " crank sensor "
I thought that I found it at the top of the bell housing just at the firewall .. nope this is not the crank sensor and it has a round sorta plug ( a dead end ) thats mounted above the driver side valve cover - it is obviously for some type of testing I cannot see anything on top of the engine that resembles a standard crank sensor ![]() ![]() ![]() any help is very appreciated cheers Lawrence from So Cal ![]() ![]() ![]() |

coming to my senses ... so after all my frustrations
can I assume that there is no crankshaft sensor that is connected to the actual ignition system and in fact ... the crank sensor is a stand alone " reference " pick up and would only be useful to me if I had the correct plug in timing reader meter am I correct ... Lawrence from So Cal |

You would have a crank position sensor only if your car was an 1984 Euro or any model 1985 or newer engine.
Since your car does not appear to be a 1984 Euro (or ROW) car, and is definitely not a 1985 US or newer car, your engine will not have a crank position sensor. If you include the year model of your car in your signature, specific questions about your car would be much easier to answer.

Sharp, You should get the cover ($12) for the 14 PIN Connector and Jump Post...add your paint scheme to it! What year and color?
