1980 under a tree in the Bronx for yrs

Found in the Bronx last week
It's a U.S. spec car with 10 digit vin 5sp 75k
M28 / 13 which says us 4.5 1980 5sp but has euro features headlamps
And rear fog lamp. Was this car shipped from over seas and then federalized here ?

Location longisland ny

Looking good

Nice ride

Not sure where they federalize them ? .
Does it have a Air Pump on it BTW or a California emissions sticker under the hood for smog

1980s.. Black or gray market car. Porsche couldn't sell them quick enough in the US, so many enterprising folks set up shop to import and federalize Euro cars. May also have had to due with Dollar/DM ratio. Some were federalized well. Some not so well.

I'd check door jambs for stickers of federalization. My Euro SC was brought in around 1983 or 4 and "federalized"... then defederalized

As the other thread said, its a normal USA 1980 with a normal 1980 10 digit vin. Some previous owner put on a Euro rear bumper, a spoiler from I'm not sure what, its nothing like an early spoiler, and changed the wheels and headlights.

Besides the vin, which is really the only sure indicator, front and rear fenders are USA, not Euro.

Regardless a nice looking car.

Hood Badge?

If it were me, the first order of business would be to reinstall the Porsche hood badge.
