S4 Sensor Confusion? Hall Effect?
While digging around in my 1987 S4 engine compartment trying to figure out why my temp gauge won't work I found what looks like a 3-wire grey cable. One end looks to go to a hall effect sensor right on the torque converter / flex plate area on top. The other end is a loose plug. Besides being in poor condition and looking like it was chewed on by a mouse I need help as to where this plugs into.
Any ideas? Thanks for the help, Bob ![]() ![]()

It doesn't plug into anything. It was to be used at the factory/dealership as a test sensor plug, but AFAIK it was never put into service.
