first oil change, how many quarts should my 951 take?

I just changed my oil and added 6 qts, still 1 quart low. Is this correct that this 4 cyl is supposed to hold 7 qts? Seems like alot to me but just wanted to check so I don't overfill it if my dipstick is somehow off. Thanks

7 is about right. I forget the exact metric value (both the metric and imperial conversion are given in the manual) for it, but I believe it's like 6.92 quarts with the filter or something. I believe I just dumped in 7 on my last change - close enough for me.

Thanks for the reply. I'll add another quart today then. I just figured that was a lot of oil for a 4 cyl so just wanted to double check. Thanks again

If your 951 came with an forward oil cooler it is going to take more like 7.5+ quarts with the short standard oil filter.

Yeah, you don't have the oil lines for the turbo or the external cooler and I believe your oil pan is a bit smaller so that makes sense.

No, the 944T uses the later dipstick which increases oil capacity. There is a technical bulletin about this to retrofit early (which would only be NA) cars. When the oil in a 944T is drained, whatever is in the oil cooler stays there unless you disconnect and drain it.
