Turbo Help :(

Hey Guys...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or help.

I have an 86' 951 just hit the 100k mile mark and the turbo started whining (sounding like a fire engine) My mechanic said my turbo is dying and it's either time to purchase a new one, rebuild, or upgrade to possible a k-27 or a Garrett.....

What do you guys recommend and what should I be looking to spend for

1) Used or rebuilt K26
2) Used or rebuild K27
3) Used or NEW Garrett (and what Garrett is recommended)

Thank you

951Fevr

Depends upon what your ultimate power-goals are. The stock K26/6 can get close to about 280rwhp. The TurboS's K26/8 can get up to 310-315rwhp. Rebuilds on either of these are $250-400.

Garret hybrids are fine if you want more power than that... say in the 350rwhp+ range. You're looking at about $1100 for one. I've got adaptors that'll fit them up to the stock rubber J-boot without the restrictions of the thick plastic adaptors others use. Can also map chips to work with this turbo at any boost level you want.

I'm gonna be down in your area (Costa Mesa) either this friday or early next week if you want to have lunch and discuss.

Like Danno said....it depends on what your goals are. I would go with a K27......good for some serious HP and bolts right up.

Awesome.. Thanks guys! I think a Garrett may be a little too much for my goals.. I'd like 300rwhp and then focus on my breaks and handling....

Anyone know prices on a K27 used-new?

Danno.. sent you a PM
