Either Hella or Cibe ECE-Spec lenses. Anything else will cause glare for oncoming drivers. Expect $100 to $200 for a pair.

I have a pair of Hella E-Code headlights in mine and they're exceptional.

I came across them on E-Bay. I've also seen them by searching Google. Just have to watch and make sure that you're getting actual Hella or Cibe and that they're actual ECE-Spec.

Bruce, very nice write-up! That'll come in handy now that Dan (Iceshark) is no longer with us.

There are a couple of things I'm wondering:
* what gauge line did you use? I remember reading something about the stock wiring being a real bottleneck -- especially going to 100/80w or 130/90w.
* why a single ground point for the headlights (why a ground line going from the passenger side all the way across to the driver's side)?

BTW -- in the States, these guys have Cibie E-codes in stock: http://www.talbotco.com/ -- $49/ea

That's a _great_ price.

Also, if you keep the stock wattages, you won't need to run the relays. To be perfectly honest, stock wattage with an ECE-spec reflector should be more than fine. It's really just the reflector in the sealed-beam units that sucks.

This place has hellas for $72 a pair with bulbs: http://www.rallylights.com/hella/7in.asp I'm not sure whether Hellas or Cibies are better, but that seems like a reasonable price.

Todd,
Do you know anything about Daniel Stern? I tried emailing them several times about purchasing their products but never got a response. I'm wondering if they have my ISP blocked for spam or what.

I've E-mailed back and forth with him a few times. He always replied very promptly. Have you tried the listed telephone numbers?

fyi, myself and a few others are planning on duplicating the complete iceshark full-boat kit in the near future, possibly sometime this summer.

I emailed Daniel Stern a month or two ago about ordering the e-code lights, and I got a prompt reply. Could be that your ISP is blocked for some reason. Make sure you check out the info in the "tech" section of the site. There's a lot of interesting stuff there that I haven't seen anywhere else.
