What are the benefits of an open waste gate dump apart from the sound? Is it just the reduced weight or are there some extra HP to be gained?

no real benefit, just easier when installing an aftermarket tial wastegate.

My 930 dumps straight to atmosphere but I had that done at the same time as some other mods so I couldn't tell whether it made any difference.

Ok remember the tequila goes into your mouth and is not to be used for cleaning parts or as a ignition helper

Darkhorse where you at I go the Oz all the time was in Melbourne 3 weeks ago. I like Sydney a lot better.

Not the most picturesque part of Australia. Next time you're over hire a car and drive the Great Ocean Road or head for the Yarra valley around Marysville/Healsville. Great roads in a P-car.

there is typicaly a 3-7hp gain from the lack of additional pressure being generated in the exhaust by dumping it back into the exhaust stream from the turbo.

a vent to atmosphere is prefered on high boost cars and is noticed while in it or while driving next to it.

87 951 = home made MBC, Large Turbo, Autothority MAF, Mafterburner, custom fuel system w. 55lb injectors, 951MAX chips, water/mentanol injection, 2-stage Nitrous injection, punched out cat, Magnaflow muffler.

944's are like kids, the average owner has 2.5.

what are you basing this on? do you have data?

i have before/after dynos and it shows absolutely no difference.

several other 951 owners i know who are dumping to atmosphere also have seen zero difference in power.
