Speed and reference sensors

Son is at the shop replacing the clutch. Almost has it all back together. Forgot which is the speed sensor and which is the reference sensor cable. Do not have a wiring diagram. How do we tell which is which?

They are both the same. If it wont start one way, just switch them at the connector end. what matters is the depth you set the sensors at. If you have no tach bounce during start up, they are prob. backwards.

OK thanks that really helps. Passed it on. Started this last week and had to stop due to ordering a pressure plate. Hopefully he will get all but the rear end back together tonight.

Used sachs. And pulled a dummy move and put the PP on, torqued it down, and then stood back and went "DOH! I forgot to put on the starter ring!"
