951 Caliper Help
Hey Guys,
I just acquired a set of 951 Calipers that I may put on my 86 Carrera...I cannot locate any Porsche part#s on them...How can I identify if they are the early calipers, or 87+? I found part#s for the different years(and respective rebuild kits) on PET, but cannot locate them on the caliper itself...Any help is appreciated. I need this info in order to purchase the correct rebuild kits. Thanks! Cus

About the only way to will be able to tell is by measuring the piston diameters. Since they are Brembo calipers, they don't have Porsche PN's on them.
The 86 Turbo calipers used smaller pistons than the '87+. I don't have the exact dimensions off the top of my head. Measure your pistons and report back. Keith

I know that the '86 pistons are 36/38mm and the 87+ are 36/40mm...The Turbo S are 36/44mm...I don't have the correct tool to accurrately measure them, so I was hoping there would be some indicator on the caliper to easily identify them...Thanks for the help...I'll borrow the tool from my buddie's bike shop and figure it out....Thanks, Cus
