high idle question

I have a 1987 951 that normally idles at a normal rpm. Every once in a while it idles at around 2000 rpm though. It tends to do that for a random amount of time and only when the car has been warmed up. I thought it could be a sensor that is not working right but i am not sure. Any input as to what it could be would be a huge help.
Thanks

I noticed on mine that when the TPS is not connected the car will idle at a higher RPM, for me around 1600.

Check your connections there as a start.

Good luck,

Keith
