Struts & Shocks ?? Whcich ones to buy ???
I am planning to do some work on my car this winter and well after 25 years it appears that the OEM Shocks and Struts are in need of replacement.
My car is 951/944T and is used as a daily/weekend driver in good weather. I don't track the car, so I am looking for mix of comfort and performance ? Every where I read it is KONI...KONI....KONI !!!!! But what about Bilstien ? Boge / Sachs ? or even KYB ? My general questions is what shocks and struts should I update too? what do you have on your car and what is your opinion ? Let me know your thoughts and opinions on what way to go ? |

I would suggest "oem" equivalents if you are not looking to change the performance. To me, Koni and Bilsteins are both fine. The Boge/sachs will be of lesser performance and I wouldn't waste time/money on KYB.
Take into account your local roads quality and if you would want the car to be any stiffer. One advantage of the Konis is that they can be tweeked (adjusted) if you care to go that far.

Unless going BIG time, like sponsored racing, there are NONE to upgrade to, save for the KONI, KONI, KONI, height adjustable ones (factory on turbo S models), if you don't already have them. The brands that you mentioned would NOT be an "update" to what is on there from the factory.
