first problem...

and thanks to you guys...a 5 minute solution
too much heat...
just felt down there, felt the loose drive rod, then no clip, and only 1/2 the 'pinch' bushing...
checked with a light...done
the dreaded 'heating clip'

ordered a couple with clips...among other stuff
secured with a tie wrap until they arrive...

this is why this place is great, one search and wham...problem solved...

thanks

thnx, very generous but I already added 2 to my Pelican order...
if it's back ordered I may take you up on your offer, then I'll send you one when mine arrive...

I did a field expedient fix:
a plastic push nut, ~1.5" long, tight fit, 1/2" head...
put some foam tape on the underside of the head for sealing...
got car hot
inserted plug until I got ~800 rpm with AC and lights on...
goes to 1000 or so when AC and lights off...
then stabilizes ~900
feels fine, no stutter or stalling...

while messing around, pulled battery, cleaned tray, drain hole and all terminals including body ground...

the RS4 has sat for a week now...it's feeling jealous
