Tried all of the fixes, but CC still not working.

Despite having tried all of the fixes mentioned here for cruise control issues, mine still acts in the following manor: About 7 out of 10 times, it will set, but not hold. By this, I mean that as long as you keep the set control depressed, the pedal will go down. But as soon as you release it, the pedal snaps right back up. About 2 out of 10 times, nothing at all happens when you try to set it, or do anything else with it. And maybe 1 out of 10 times (and getting worse), it actually works. When set is pressed, and then let up on, and pedal goes down and stays, holding the set speed.

I'm ready to pull my hair out on this one. I don't want to get any speeding tickets, and CC is one measure that helps prevent that from happening (especially for someone who suffers from ADHD, like me). So I would REALLY like to have it working properly. I have tested the switch contacts, and all seem to be OK. The neutral position of the switch is N/C, like it's supposed to be. I was thinking maybe it's the VSS, but then the tachometer wouldn't work either right? I did replace the clutch switch, to no avail. I just can't figure out what would cause it to have the 3 "modes" of operation that it has. Any ideas?

Buy a new control box for the CC. Or get one used off of here or Fleabay.

Sounds like you have not yet tried to resolder the board in there, so you should try that as well.

I did try re-soldering some of the joints, but not ALL of them. I guess I need to do them all. I'll try that next. Thanks for the reply.
