Instrument cluster broken?
Okay, my temperature gauge is acting funny, I turn my A/C on and it jumps up to three quarters and then it sits there, I turn the A/C off and rev the engine and it sits back half way.
Sometimes it goes close to the red zone but then I turn the car off and turn the key to the "on" position and the needle sits half way, only when I turn the car back on it jumps back up. Is there anyone else out there that has experienced something similar? Also my speedometer does not work. |

My erratic water temp indication was cured by pulling the instrument cluster and cleaning the grounds. I posted some pictures that will help if you decide to go that route. There are other important grounds on the engine and chassis. I did replace the speedometer sensor and cleaned the wire harness to get mine working better a few years ago and it has been reliable since. If you haven't, use the Search feature for water temperature gauge, gauge cluster, engine ground, speedometer sensor and other word combinations and you will find lots of useful information.
Good luck, UncleRay |
