Tachometer Not Working

1987 Porsche 951

It appears every time I drive this car these days something stops working, which today is the tachometer. It worked when I last drove it, but not now. Does anyone know what might be the issue?

The signal for the tach comes from the DME, and is the same signal sent to the ignition coil. If the car runs, the it is either the tach itself, or the wiring going to the tach from the DME.
