Need pricing help
I have a 86 944T that I inherited from my late father in law. Put about 3k into it making it good. I am getting ready to retire to the FL Keys and won't take it with me...Sadly. Anyhow, What should I be listing this for??? The internet is not my friend right now. Has 116K miles. just had a reputable place go through it and make all repairs. I have all the records.. Don't know what to ask for it. It is in great shape . When I look up the car for figuring sale price I get has performance chip.. Any suggestions???

Performance chips, in my mind, do not increase the value of a car much. What does, are cars that are well maintained, have decent miles on odo, clean interior/exterior, etc.

land in the Keys should be cheap now, bring your own bulldozer...

Ask $10K, take any offer over $5K.

Timing Belt / Water pump current? Always the first thing a potential buyer will ask for.
If so, and everything else is clean, I would start in the $12k range.

Looks very clean in the above picture. If the interior is just as nice, I think you have a nice car there.
As mentioned, these maintenance items will impact certain buyers (enthusiasts) will want to know: 1) Timing belt/water pump service. This is a $2K job by most shops nowadays. How recent was it done and are there records 2) Clutch - again, a $2k job by most shops nowadays. How recent was it done and are there records. So some may take your $12-15K asking price and start deducting. Of course, other buyers will not care. A popular place to sell cars is through bringatrailer.com. there auctions allow for a conversation between potential buyers, the seller and general commentors. Some don't have a think enough skin to want that type of interaction.

Could of sworn this car was up for sale about a year ago on Rennlist?? I was looking to buy back then, but could not wrap my head around the 2 tone dash {black top, linen bottom}, maybe I'm mistaken, I looked at a lot of cars...anyhow I digress.
Several options/features that drive the price up are the very desirable limited slip transaxle, sport seats, sunroof delete and side molding bump strip delete. I paid 13K for a very clean '88 944 turbo with 92K on the clock, fresh belts and all that stuff, but having none of the above mentioned option/features. At the time it was a good deal, and I think it still is. My .02 cents worth. Mark |

I just had the belts and the water pump done in May. Interior is good except for crack on the dash. I have only owned this car for a year. It belonged to my father in law who passed away. We are relocating and can't take it with us.
