964 strut tops and camber plates for Motons?

I have a set of Moton Clubsports that came off a 964.

I am trying to put them on my 1991 turbo but one camber plate bolt will not clear the strut top opening.
I do not want to cut the opening of my car, therefore would anybody know what other camber plates are available that will take this Moton shock in the stock opening?

Front is the issue? Rennline will work. If the rear is the issue, make sure you have the right strut tops for your car. A search of "early late 964 suspension differences" will provide a lot of info on the differences.

Those are Mode camber plates and they can be an issue w/ stock length shocks as well, they are designed for use w/ shorter racing shocks, such as the Motons, but the cavity isn't big enough to accommodate the adjuster knob. On longer regular shocks the top of the shock will often nick the inside wall of the well formed by that design

a friend runs those on his 993, either his Motons are different from yours or he just removes the knob


If that doesn't work Rennline or Elephant both have camber plates that free up that space, ie they are a low profile design, sans cavity

Nice set, but the Mode front mounts you have are designed for the 993. The 964 set you need have more offset. Also note, the rears are year specific with 2 different bolt patterns to check.

I used to machine and assemble these and work from the same building. Please let me know if you should need a set of the 964 black plates or to renew the bearings. We probably have them in stock.

Thanks Guys, although these shocks came off a 964, it appears the tops are indeed MODE front mounts for a 993 as stated by the fine folks here on pelican.

Selling the tops for $450.00 shipped CONTUS.

these are for 993 but came off a 964.

they will not fit 964 turbo however.
