Yes, our 5.0 liter to start will be for the air-cooled platform. But we are making billet cases for both the 993 & Our 5.0 Liter Platform

I am not sure what your meaning, the 993 billet case goes from stock to 4.2l, the 5.0 liter engine is completely different, looks the same from the outside, they will be set up for upside down fans, billet throttle bodies or slide valves for normally aspirated and turbocharged

Yes indeed not billet, it is heat pressurized to 30K pounds at 900F,and the finish on the case looks fantastic indeed.

A quality sand casting should not need the HIP process. HIP was designed to remove trapped gasses in poorly cast aluminum. A356.0T6 is a sand cast alloy. To be MIL spec it needs to comply with ASTM-B-26 or similar and all the requirements otherwise it is an alloy used but isn't MIL spec. HIP will not make a cast part stronger than a cast part that was devoid of gasses to begin with. If gases are present then something is wrong with either the melting process or sand mix. It is actually a cheap fix for lack of QC. Although doesn't hurt.
I would be more interested if they were radiographically or Fluorescent dye penetrant inspected to Class A Grade A or some established criteria to meet MIL spec and if they are certifying these to A356.0T6 or just using A356 heat treating it to T6 which anyone can do. Assuming they meet min criteria of separately cast test bars 24k PSI Yield 34K Ultimate Tensile and 3.5% elongation it should yield a stronger casting than the factory. Although I would expect integrally cast test bars and random sampling of a casting with sub sized bars would be better IMO. In order to comply with the MIL specs sub sized bars from the casting only need to meet 75% of the requirements of the spec. I regularly saw 32k Yield 42k Tensile and 5% elongation out of sub-sized test bars cut from my castings when properly cast and heat treated. Although that was dependent on the house performing the heat treatment process which is rather complex to do correctly and even many DOD and NADCAP approved houses I knew of cut corners. I am also curious how they plan to increase displacement? Will it use wider barrels or do they intend to increase the stroke which will require new jugs and heads?
