3 Different types of CV grease... which one goes where?
I just purchased the CV re-boot kit from pelican for my '91 C4 but I don't know which grease goes where....
Three different types of CV grease are in the kit: 1) GKN moly grease (included with boots) 2) Swepco 101 Moly (14.4oz tube) 3) LiquiMoly long life (2x 100g tube) Initial intuition is ignore the GKN grease and pack all 8 CV joints equally with both Swepco and LiquiMoly... is this correct or are there specific compounds for specific joints? Then I question if one tube of Swepco + 2 tube of LiquiMoly is even enough for that. I appreciate any guidance you may have. I just repacked mine. I threw the GKN in the bin and used Castrol LMM grease. Swepco isn’t readily available here or I would have used that. As for the Liquid moly I wouldn’t bother. Swepco is plenty good enough.

The kit came with three different greases?
You can use any of them. For a street car, I don't think it matters too much. I'd use the swepco in the CV joints as it is a known good product. I'd save the other stuff for other use cases. |

Sounds good. I'll just use the Swepco on all the CV joints... if there isn't enough, I'll just buy another tube.
