964 engine noise

When I drive my 92 cab 4 with the top down I hear a highpitch jingling/clinking/churping noise. It's most noticable between 2k and 3k rpms and is dependent on how hard I'm accelerating. Any ideas what this might be?

TIA
Ted

Easy fix is to not let your engine get below 3k rpms. I cruise ta 4k and usually shift at redline.

Check your heat shields. One may be loose and only reach another piece of metal to make the noise after reaching the RPM point. Is it at those RPMs in every gear or only when starting from stop using 1st or 2nd gear?
