Does the 993 have a valve problem

My wrench told me that almost all 993 have a valve problem, and needed or had replacement before 60,000 miles. He said if I buy a car that didn't have the valves done, keep 6K in reserve to replace them.

Is this that really that bad of a problem?

Michael

We work on a fair number of 993's. Several have had this problem. Your mechanics estimate of 6K for a valve job is a good number.
