Question Brake Caliper Conversion/Up-date?

I have a 1978 SC and would like to upgrade the brake calipers and understand that there may be a direct fit/exchange with calipers from a 944 Turbo.

Can anyone tell me if the following calipers would work, or if modifications/adapters are needed.

1990, 944 Turbo with M030 package

Thanks!

Joe

That is the S4 caliper, to use it on a 911 the bleeds and feeds need to be swapped(944 was trailing mount 911 is leading mount). The caliper adapters and rotor/adapters are readily available from many sources such as VCI, Power HAus, Imagine etc.

If you stick w/ 930 sized 304x32 rotors then 16" wheels can be used, if 993tt size 322x32 are used then 17s

The rear also needs to be updated to 965 calipers and 930 rotors
and the m/c will need to be upgraded to 23.8mm

Bill,

Thanks for the information posted and I see that additional studying on Porsche brake systems is a must! I can now draw on the information and hopefully make an educated decision.

Thanks again for info and time spent!

Joe
