Quickjack and 993

Just recently got my 993 and tried to use my quickjack 5000SLX.

If I try to lift at the jacking points under the rockers, the jack will hit the tires, at the top of the hinge/pivots. I noticed in the Pelican 911 video w/ quickjack that the jack is positioned further in.

New to the car, so I don't know where is a safe part to put the lifting blocks. At the rear , it looks like maybe the rear subframe, in front of the rear wheel??

You want to use the factory lift point to do it safely. Have you tried reversing the jack so it pivots the other way?
Post a picture and we can help you out

Physically the unit fits between the wheels (barely, maybe one inch or two clearance), however the unit moves in an arc and that is where the prob is. If I try to move the unit front to back so it clears the front tire, the rear lifting point is no longer aligned.

In the first pic shows arrows where the lift hits the tire and the tube blocking me from moving the rubber block to keep the lifting point aligned.

With the jack reversed, I no longer have the lifting block alignment problem, but still the tire getting hit by the lift. Blue tape shows area were the lifting points are.

Noticed my quick disconnect fittings are leaking now too.

That looks like it leaves me with the perpendicular lift, which I will have to take a look at.

Have you found a solution to this? Maybe the 3500 model is a better fit?

Sorry for not following up on this. (hate it when other people do that)

I used the perpendicular lift. According to another Rennlister I messaged, who said he spoke with Quickjack over the phone , the 3500 won't work on the 993 either unless you used the perpendicular lift.

I originally got the lift to work on my other car and got the 993 about 6 months later.

One thing I noticed when lifting the 993 we have here perpendicularly is just to make sure that the car is on the locks...I noticed that if you try to stop the car halfway down and not on the locks the rearward weight balance causes the rear jack to lower and the front to raise, so use this method carefully. Make sure to set your baby on the locks!

Bought the 5000slx. Works great for my MacanS and 997 Targa 4S. Unfortunately not so good for the 964. Will be fine for working under the back end but I have the same problem with hitting the front tire. I tried the lateral lift but the front goes up but the back lags behind. Anybody come up with a solution?

The original 5000 was too short for Porsches. That was why I waited for the slx. I notice in the Pelican video they focus on the back wheel but don't show the contact of the front tire.
