Engine problems PLEASE HELP!

I have never had anything serious happen with my engine, but I think I am about to have my first episode. I have a early 85 NA. I was driving on the highway last night. Suddenly, my car did a fast jerk, like the engine cut out. It did it a couple other times in about 15 minute intervals. The RMP did not jerk when it happened. I changed oil and spark plugs last week. They also tried to do my rear diff fluid but that did not happen. It seems to only do it around 2500-3000 RMP. Please Help!

Hello

If you have a 85 you are in the wrong board.
The 964 on came im 1999.

Right now the first move would be to check the basics:

DME relay
Ignition with wire, finger, cap, spark plugs
Lambda sensor
Temperature sensor
Checking for vacuum leaks

HELP! 964 fuel pump/lambda sensor fuse short circuit

One morning I try to start the engine, but I couldn'. The fuse #34 fuel pump/lambda sensor was broken. I replaced it but occurred again!

Short history, checked several times and finally replaced fuel pump and lambda sensor and the problem continue.

The only way the engine start is disconnecting the lambda sensor. The engine go on, but when it warm up, fail in idle and doesn't start again until it cool down.

So, please anyone have any idea what' happens!!!

HELP

JC

Check your rotor and cap. Sure sounds electrical.

Thank you every one. I have 964 1992. Actually I already put a new DME relay, but nothing! I recommend iddops check it, but I not sure your car has one.

The point is when I disconnect the lambda sensor engine start normally, fuse goes ok, but when it warm it the idle shut down. caps and rotor are new too

I am checking the central unit and wire connection, but if you have any idea I appreciate to let me know.

Regards

JC
