Calling Don P. or Tom W.???
I just bought a 1000mi, JIC competition suspension for my 993.
Could you guys post some pics of the drop links you used? I will be using Racers Group adjustables.

Bill, I'll look throught the photos I have tonight. I think i have a couple of Bob doing the install that shows the drop links. If not, I'll be pulling the car out of the trailer on Friday to do some work on it and will take some pictures then.

Woo Hoo!
Front links were stock. I'm having custom rear's made up by Bob Brooks (to clear the ERP rear arms). They look like this: ![]()

Here's a shot with the suspension compressed and a straight link. This one's a little too long, but with the ERP arm I won't be able to catch the rear position on the TRG sway. That's why the curved links are being made up.
![]() I also modified the mount on the JIC to clear the larger drop link head. I took a bit more out than on this picture, but you get the idea. Alternatively, you could just cut out a section. ![]()

Thanks that's great!
So it' just the back that is the issue? Bob Brooks aka Viperbob? Did you guys get the 8kg/11kg set? How does that compare to the MO30 springs on there now? What ride height? Did either of you use the EVO uprights?

Yeah, the front installed with the stock links just fine. The front bushings/bracket was a bit of a challenge.
Yes, Viper Bob. Should be 8/12 (450/674). Car has still not seen the ground since installed them - hopefully will get set up next week or so. Sorry - what's an EVO upright?

The EVO uprights are used on RS, RSR and GT2 to eliminate bump steer on lowered cars. The tie riods are also different
This is from my RS SIT(WKD 499 620) ![]() I think that either Steve W. or Viperbob posted these ![]() ![]()

What sway bars are you using?

EVO - thanks. You should probably contact Bob for more details, he's really familiar with the JIC product.
TRG Bars with their solid bushings. Didn't have a problem threading the new bar in as some suggest - that part seemed pretty easy to me. I had a hard time getting the old bushings out, sliding the bracket under, then getting it buttoned back up. Nothing a big hammer and some vice grips didn't solve. But it's the first sway bar I ever touched, so I was probably a little hesitant at first.

My 964 has the middle range springs. I got them as I felt I wasn't ready for the really firm springs and by the time I got there it would be time for Moton's.
My car is really low. The gound to jack point distance is less than 3 inches. To get this low, the tender springs were removed from the suspension (not enough adjustability in the perches). I do not have EVO uprights (yet). So far, the car does not have objectional bump steer but we worry that the huge slicks will be more than the stock uprights can handle. We (the shop guys anyway) are keeping an eye on it. I may simply switch to EVO uprights and full mono-balls next year anyway to get a bit better responsivness. We'll see how this race season goes.
