**Another ? for Don or Tom**

Some pics of the JICs i'm buying. I was under the impression that the straight drop links won't work w/ Racers Group bars in the back. These came off a 993 w/ the same RG bars as mine. Am I missing something?

My 964 has straight drop links. On my 993 I know that the normal straight would not work and the curved RS drop links were used.

I'd suggest you call Bob Brooks, he may know for sure as I know he's installed them on bith 964's and 993's.

Yup - especially with the ERP arms a straight link wouldn't make it - I'll dig up a pic in a bit. Bob had curved arms made for me - pic of that coming as well.

From what I have been able to gather they(straight ones) work only in the full soft position w/ a loaded suspension(needs to be disconnected before lifting)

Challenge:

The suspension is compressed in this shot.

This drawing illustrates what the ruler is demonstrating:

Don, the hi res versions would be nice to have in my archives.

I'll PM you w/ my email address

Can you lift it w/o disconnecting? Any interference under full compression?

Happy to send them.

I believe I can lift w/o disconnecting - but the car has not touched ground yet and I won't be reconnecting until Herr Schmidt sets up the suspension (soon I hope!).

Pics on the way. If they bounce (about 10mb), I'll upload them to an FTP site for you.

Don: The car has obviously been up on the lift too long as it's waaaay too clean. When do you bring it out to play for the first time? You know there's a CDS event coming up June 5th at Infineon and I know that's such a long commute for you ...

Tom - I agree! I'm hoping that Tyson will be able to set up the suspension by then - if so, I'll be there...

Good, I'd like to see the beast in person. I'm signed up to instruct and, work permitting, I will be there too.

The JIC's are quite a relative bargin. Just a few hundred more than PSS9's plus they include monoballs and front camberplates. TRG Bars are also a relative bargain (compared to Factory RS bars).

The ERP links....uh, I'm pretty sure they are OEM from an Apollo space capsule or something. Ouch.

Yea they are! What car are the pictures from? What’s its history, what is it used for now, etc… And how about some more pictures? I’m sure there is more art on that car than the suspension pieces!

Thanks - follow the link in my signature for more info -- but there isn't much else going on. I spent my budget on safety (1/2 cage, Scroth 6pt, etc.) and suspension (a subset of safety), the rest is plan jane vanilla 993. It's a training wheels car for me, I'm a total noob.
