A/C question 964
Something strange occurred today on a Road Trip with my AC.
A couple of weeks ago I had my AC serviced as it was blowing warm air. Mechanic replaced the evaporator, pressure tested system, etc. Blew cold. Today, it blew warm for about 45 minutes into the trip... I "played" with all of the settings, to no avail. I turned off the system, opened the windows and drove another 15 miles or so and then put the AC back on... it blew cold and strong for another hour until I arrived at destination. Car sat for 4 hrs.. Started her up, drove home for 2 hours and the AC blew cold the entire way home, infact so cold I had to lower the fan settings. Temperatures ranged from 93 to 85 degrees... What could have been the cause? Did the Porsche Gods solve it for me? Last edited by btsave; 07-01-2006 at 08:08 PM.. |

this might work
yes it happened to me and after all the dealer brains and gods of all backyard renegades, it took the car home and by luck i put a little pressure in the control unit with my hand and walla it went cold. for some reason the controll box pushes the harness unitll it cut of so my friend play with it and let me know...

Check the power wire to the compressor clutch. It's a black wire coming off the compressor to the right side of engine compartment. I had my compressor cycling on and off, turn out to be a poor connection with the stock wire connectors, replaced them with new, compressor stays on now, plenty cold at #2 fan setting. $.20 repair.
Good Luck, Don 93 RSA |
