M320 is the CR-11 radio
616 is undefined. Could be a factory code for an options package. AFJ

Thanks AFJ,
Now that 616 is the only remaining unknown code, I think it may be the electronic car theft device (don't know the exact English phrase for that). I mean: electronics built-in the key so that the key is being recognised by the car which means that the car cannot be started with a non-original key. The car was originally delivered in Germany and I got 2 rather large keys with the car with a Porsche logo on it. The keys look original Porsche but I don't think that it was a factory option. Perhaps this option was only for the German market. Anyway, thanks for your help. Kind regards, Danny |

The large key with the swing out key portion is the normal key. Most 993 from 1996 had the system installed. That is option M529 or M530
There is a kit available to make the key a normal sized key and have the remote control a separate unit in a much smaller package. Electronic car theft device = immobilizer or alarm system. AFJ

as 614 and 615 are options for the factory telephone... could 616 be another?
Does you car have a telephone option built in?

I thought of that as well, but apart from this cell phone holder (not connected to antenna or amplifier or whatsoever, it is just a holder), there is no sign of a telephone kit installed.
Immobilizer..... I just couldn't come up with that word... I am surprized to hear that most 993's from 1996 and later came with these as standard. I didn't read anything on that in the books that I have. Anyway, thank you all for your input! ![]() Last edited by DannyK; 11-10-2006 at 02:21 AM.. |
