964 C2 suspension upgrade

I am interested in lower my 1992 964 C@ porsche.

I have a chance to install a stock 1993 RS struts, shocks and springs. Can any one tell me if this a straight crossover fit and if the RS springs will lower my Porsche. Plus can any one tell me if the RS stiffer suspension becomes a rough ride. I would like to increase suspension performance slightly but not to the point of a rough ride since I drive the Porsche on the street 95% of the time.

Thanks for any feedback

I have a complete RS suspension setup on my 90 C2. I did not do the install myself, but it appeared to be fairly straight forward with the addition of front camber plates. The ride height is adjustable. With 18" wheels, it is definitely a stiff ride; smaller wheels might be better for a street car.

On my old 90C2 I ran a Bilstien/H&R ride height adjustable set up. It was a good set up.

Cheers

If it's from an RS America, then it won't lower the car.

The RS America ran the same springs in front, and slightly stiffer progressive rate springs in back. The front swaybar was larger, and the rear was the standard one.

The struts were Boge Turbo Gas, IIRC.

So, if it is from an RSA, not really much of an upgrade.

Spring upgrade

Thanks for the reply.

I had a feeling it would not lower my 964 but just stiffen it

Thanks again

Yes, there is a big difference between RS and RSA. My setup is RS, not RSA.

Kris

Can you post some more info? I recently got a 1990 and would like to do this upgrade but I 'heard' that this was not possible on the 1990 cars..?

Thanks!

At the low end H&R Coil-Over Suspensions and adjustable sways are the way to go, Still not cheap
H&R/Bilstein sport suspension use the factory RS adjustable sways

moving up in cost JIC, Pss9

and even further into the stratosphere Moton, Olins etc.

I have the springs and dampers from a Euro RS (don't know the year) on my car. They were installed by my mechanic, not me. When I asked him about fitment, he says that rear camber plates / monoballs were required to make them fit; the stock upper bushings will not work. I also have camber plates / monoballs on the front.

I did not go shopping for Euro RS parts; I just happened to come across them used and for a good price. I don't know how they compare to the other options.
