Need Tutorial On How To Remove Rear Bumper
I have a 1991 964 and I need access to the turbo mounting plates. It appears the best way to wrench on the flange nuts is to remove the rear bumper. A cursory review of this and the "other" forum do not offer any suggestions.
Can someone who has recently done this walk me through the steps for a rear bumper R&R? Thanks, Mark

I comes off in one piece. There are 3 8mm head screws that connect the bumper to the quarters on each side. There are 2 phillips head screws per side that attach the tubular brackets in the wheel wells.
Remove the right side exhaust tip and you will see a large 10mm allen head bolt. Remove that and one on the opposite side and the whole assembly will come off. Have a blanket under it to avoid scratching the paint. Also, the license plate light wiring connects from the right side and you will have to deal with it before removal. |
