993 C4S high mount stop light not working
If anyone can help me with this it would be appreciated!.....
Have determined that there are three wires running to the base of the rear window, on passenger side, center and driver's side, and have located the two wires at the top of the rear window that supply power to the high mount stop light. Using a test light, I have power to the lower centre wire when the brake pedal is depressed, and also power at the top of the rear window on the passenger side window when the brake pedal is depressed. The lower, passenger side appears to have power when the rear defrost is turned on. I have no power whatsoever to the driver side of the rear window at the base, and subsequently no power reaching the top connection of the stop light in either case. I have a wiring diagram for the '96 993, but am not completely clear on where to go next.....could it be a loose ground? If so, where? If you know anything about wiring diagrams, I can provide you with the diagram. dowen |

There are only 2 wires that come out above the rear window, these are the +12 and gnd for the high mounted tail light
![]() the next connection is on top of the package tray, you need to remove the finish upholstery to get at it. ![]()
