993 shift knob upgrade - help
I bought a wood shift knob, supposedly from a 993 turbo. I went to install it and found that it wouldn't fit.
The stock 993 knob appears to be leather covered rubber that fits on an approx 1/2" x 1/4" shaft. The new knob has more like a 1" x 1/2" hole with a clip. Is there a rubber bushing I'm missing? Looks like I need that and a new leather boot (the existing one is part of the knob). Any idea where I could purchase these additional parts? |

AFAIK, the rubber part is integral to the knob.

993 shift knob
Thanks. Maybe I could just pour it full of some type of liquid rubber.
Or possibly disassemble a regular leather covered knob and see if the rubber in there is the right size to act as a bushing. |
