I'm pretty sure that is the signal flasher relay.

If it is the signal flasher, turn them on and see if the relay cycles open-closed-open-closed...If it is not the flasher relay, pop it out and see what doesn't work. It looks like a more common relay than the flasher relay to me.

Indeed the flasher relay, by putting on the hazards/flashers you can feel it working with a finger placed on its case.
My last SC had the same component apparently tethered by its loom, just loose behind fuel gauge, when I found this one by accident cleaning the carpet, and thought I'd stumbled on Stuttgarts amusing secret weapon Tell you what, I'll keep looking
