964 Ambient Temp indicator

My onboard computer always reads 40.0 degrees C no matter what the temperature is. I think the sensor is located in a mirror. Anybody worked on this before?

I have had this also after removing my mirrors and placing them back: also 40 Celsius...

Turned out that I switched the cables/connectors at the sensor in the mirror housing.

Good luck,

I'm guessing the sensor is in one of the outside mirrors? Can you guys point me in the right direction? My onboard computer has been reading the wrong temps as well, but I did a lot of playing with various things before.

Regards,

Ben

The sensor should be in your left side mirror.
there is a hole in the bottom of the mirror casing for the temp sensor probe to 'feel' the outside air temp.
See if your mirror has this small sensor tip showing in the hole.
Common failures include corroded wiring or connectors in the mirror housing, failed sensors, and incorrect wiring due to aero mirror upgrades.
