Whats this switch do?

on side of centre 'tunnel' just by left Knee,

fitted into that small removable panel (which hides rear wiper relay)

a single aftermarket switch and LED which flashes with switch ON

my car has One, and just spotted it fitted on this one in its picture as well

Bit confusing actually,
Quite why it has Two LED (one under rotary) one on 'tunnel'
Thought it was just my car, untill I noticed exact same thing in that picture as well

Just a guess: aren't all UK cars fitted with "immobilisers" required by the insurance companies?

Your quite right on the immobilizer issue,
Not sure quite what happens on the LED front though, I've not seen a car with Two on yet, or one that's switched on or off, via a switch in such a visible place.

'Valet' buttons are normally kust a push button and mounted out of sight (no LED) AFAIK

Cheers Richard

Right, just been informed its a switch and LED to disable alarms internal sensors, when you leave a dog or child say, in locked car.

That makes perfect sense what with a warning light next to switch.

Thanks for suggestions as usual anyway,

Richard

OK, I'm going to play too: This is the switch that converts the car from RH (as it should be) to LH drive (for The States).

Do I win a prize????

Sure the game is rigged, but if you don't play you can't win!

And some wrong answers just deserve to be heard, even if they are rather idiotic...

While I understand its never going to be a dynamic forum, I generally read through the replies before adding,
usually to avoid repostism.

Plus it helps not reinventing the wheel at same time,

but hey, what do I know!
