Problem programming 993 remote
I wanted to program a second remote as my only one is pretty shabby and on its last legs. So I bought a new 2nd remote.
The instructions for programming, which I got from www.rennlist.com forum didnt work for me so I took it to the dealer and asked them to program both remotes for their $145 fee. The spent a couple hours on it and the tech told me that he just couldnt get my car into "program mode". He said that it could possibly be due to the after market radio and how it may be grounded to the starter switch (or something like that), which therefore would not enable it to go into "program mode"... Now that the car is home, I could conceivably disable or remove the aftermarket radio and see if that makes a difference in its ability to get into program mode... and then I could do it myself or take it back to the dealer... anythoughts about this? should I work backwards disabling things like the radio and checking fuses to see what could be the problem? |
