JIC spring question

I am getting ready to buy a JIC coilover kit but am not sure what springs to get. The car is a '91 C4 that will see track, auto-x, and street time. Also, I am hoping that I can reduce or eliminate some of my cars horrible understeer by selecting the right spring combination.

The turbo set up comes with 9kg/mm Front, 11kg/mm Rear springs but they will also set up a kit with 10K (565lbs)or 11K(620lbs) front and 14K(787lbs) rear which I believe is similar to the cup car springs.

Is the cup car spring setting too rough for an occasional drive to the grocery store?
I would like to make my car handle better than it does currently while not being too soft.

I am also considering a 26mm H&R rear sway bar to help out with the understeer.

Thanks,

Nick

on 993 I use 8/12(450/672) which is a bit stiffer in back than the usual 8/11, it does eliminate a lot of understeer, when combined w/ adjustable RS sways you can get pretty neutral handling.

others run the Cup 600/800 and are quite happy but this isn't as aggressive ratio wise as 8/12 though it is more aggressive wheel rate wise

9/14(504/784) is slightly more aggressive ratio wise

any of them can be used on the street( at least we all do) just dial down the shocks damping and they are going to be fine

on a 964 the springs rates won't have exactly the same wheel rates as on a 964 but they shouldn't be too far off either

Bill, thanks for the helpful reply. I am going to try and make up my mind this weekend. I didn't want to spend 2.5k and get a set of springs that could not be driven on the street so it helps knowing other people are running the cup springs.
