Please Advise: Buying a 993 spoiler doesnt raise automatically

Hi

I am a newby to this forum. I am thinking about purchasing a 993 Carrera 2 (1995).

The only issue I can find with the car is that the spoiler doesnt raise automatically anymore. It will still raise manually using the switch on the centre console, but does not raise after 50mph, or 75mph.

Does anyone know what the problem could be, and would it be expensive to fix as this is a cool feature of the 911.

Does anybody know what other common faults should be looked out for? The car has had a new clutch 5000 miles ago, and it has covered 52000.

Thanks
Dave

Welcome and congrats.

Here's a link to a great 993 diy site: www.p-car.com/diy which covers the common spoiler faults.

Spoiler not operating

Since you don't own the car it would be impossible to perform these tests. You may want to factor in the cost to repair or replace in your offer.

Not sure if it works the same way on a 993, but the spoiler wouldn't work when the abs sensor was ajar. Is there a brake warning light on?
