G50 External Identification

Pardon my ignorance, but how is a G50 transaxle identified (as much as possible) from an external examination?

G50 is fitted with an hydaulic slave and not a cable;the torsion bar axle are longer than the915(if you look in the rear weel bay you'll see a cover for the torsion bar with 4 bolts. If this cover is at least 5 inches long, that's a G50,if almost flush,915) this gear box was introduce in the end of 1986 on 3.2 Carrera.I hope it'll help.
