12 point alternator shaft wrench not part of factory tool kit?
I wanted to change my alternator belt today and was surprised I could not find the tool 999 571 052 02 in my kit. Is this normal, or did the P.O. loose this tool???
I have been carrying a spare belt in the trunk and now just realized that I was kidding myself. I would be stranded roadside with a new belt in hand ... Cheers, George |

According to PET, it is included in the OEM tool kit.

Aigel i didnt have one in my tool set either, so i bought a star socket from the autoparts store just a standard 5 point star, ill get you the size tomorrow if your interested. It worked fine. You just have to be a little more careful i guess so as not to strip it out. But i had no problems.

It wasn't in mine either WHEN I NEEDED IT!!
Dont know if it was a PO problem or omitted at the factory. I bought the factory part which is now in the tool kit along with a spare belt. Jim 1995 993 |

I bought the tool. It is the same size and has the same L shape and flat screw driver head than a tool that came with the car's kit. I am now convinced my tool kit did not have this 12 point tool.
Off to replace the belts ... George |
