Converting 993 cab latches to manual?

So about three or four years ago the dealer decided to replace my passenger side top latch with some recall version - and it's been nothing but trouble ever since. It strips gears constantly, and I'm getting tired of replacing it. Just to top it off, the drive cable for the top broke last week.

I'd really like to convert my top to being fully manual, but I have no idea how. I already took care of the drive motor/cable/etc so that part is manual, but I really want to get rid of the latch motors as well.

Unfortunately no one seems to have any idea what I need in order to do this. Suggestions, anyone?

You can pick up a pair of manual roller latches and handles from 1986 to 1989 911 (not sure what year these types were on) in place of your latching motors located on the top itself. The pic is from our host as they sell the parts or u can check the 911 parts forum. The receiving guides will accept the motorized latch or manual roller.

Hope this helps.

911 565 075 62 Handle X2
911 565 031 63 Catch Left
911 565 032 63 Catch Right

Total is about $650 new but then you won't have to mess with it ever again.
